Webster's dictionary defines the word 'rescue' as "to free from confinement, danger or evil; freeing from imminent danger by prompt or vigorous action."   What do you think of when you hear the word rescue?

I thought of many different definitions for this word for many years but never truly appreciated the meaning until I met Tessa, my Maltese rescue.

Tessa has taught me so much, especially for someone or something that does not actually speak words...yet she speaks volumes.  Tessa was rescued by an organization in Alabama.  When I first saw her on Petfinder, I just knew she was the one for me.  Something about those eyes captured my heart.  We bonded from that very first moment when I held her and we have been inseparable ever since.

She has taught me so many things over the years, patience, understanding, forgiveness, adversity, stamina, and persevering no matter what.  She has no fear, and most importantly, she has the strength to endure.

This is dedicated to all the rescues in this world who hang on to hope for that one person who they can give their unconditional love to and never have to be afraid again.
